Inspired by the Season Premiere of The Biggest Loser, we share our weight on the air today!

Did you see last night's Biggest Loser? All I could keep thinking was, you know what, what is the big deal? If these people can get on tv in front of millions of people and reveal their weight and do something about it, what is my problem? What is the big secret? I Jeannie Green today weigh 213 pounds. Mike revealed he weighs 231. We are doing something about "releasing" the extra weight. No more talk!
What I've eaten so far today:
1 cup granola, 1 cup ff vanilla yougurt, salad with salmon and balsamic vinegarette, small bag of sunchips, yerba mate tea, grande non fat mocha...
we will be talking more about this and sharing with you, and you can share with us, we can do this! I encourage you to be inspired to make a small change today toward your health goal too! Maybe just start keeping a food/exercise journal, that's my plan! More to come!
Love,
Jeannie

Don’t forget that the Biggest Loser focuses on the one thing that all dietitians state in there recommendations “Exercise”. In addition; remember going hungry to loss weight will catch up with you when you finally do eat because you body will go into starvation mode and hold on to everything given it. That’s why you hear so many complain that right after they stopped their diet they gained it all back!!! Dan - Menifee, Ca.

I'm SO proud of the both of you!

I'm 5'7 and I weigh 180lbs.

I have lost 50 lbs since November 2006. I don't know what it is like to have a flat tummy because I have been heavy since I was eleven years old. I'm now twenty two and I have realized that this is a choice of mine and I have to stick to it! *smile* Thanks Mike and Jeannie you both are wonderful!

God Bless and LET'S DO THIS!

I joined WW in June weighing in at 185 and now I'm down to 167. A big part of their program involves journaling everything you put in your mouth. It has worked for me, so I hope that your food journaling will work for you, as well. I know you can do it - don't give up!

Mike and Jeannie:
It is great to know that there are others out there that are struggling just as I am. I have always had a weight problem, but have never admitted it - until now.
I am 32 years old, 5'5", and now weigh 205 (dropping from 225 since June '07) with a goal of 150.
I am an assistant softball coach and felt that it was just time for me to take control of my weight issue in hopes to be a better example to my players as well as just to become healthy for myself.
I don't think that there is a "perfect" diet out there that works for everyone. You have to find the one that works for you. For me it is a low carb diet, plus exercise everyday. Right now I am working on being able to run a whole mile without stopping to walk, which would be a HUGE accomplishment seeing as I could barely walk a quarter mile 5 months ago! (So far I run half and walk half in about 15 and a half minutes.)
I just wanted to say thanks for being an inspiration to me to stick with it and to make myself better. I wish you both luck on your road to being healthy.
God Bless

I thought it was so awesome that you both revealed your weight on the air earlier this week; that must have been inspiring to the younger listeners. It's only when we become vulnerable to each other that the real support comes. I can't really remember when I didn't struggle with food and weight. Especially high school and college. As I've gotten older and had kids, I learned that it's about eating what you love, having a balance with the right amount and then exercising with the right activity. You can't do the actitivites that you don't love either. It's pure torture!! Do something that's fun for you. Not something that's fun for someone else. I love to run and walk with my golden retriever but I don't love to run alone. I like to ride mountain bikes with my kids but I don't like to ride the bike at the gym. That sort of thing.

Let's stick together and remembering that when "two or more are gathered together............

Good luck with getting healthy. I am currently doing weight watchers and I am blogging my experience as well! It will help you stay accountable, at least that is what I have found to be true. You can visit my blog if you would like, www.calvarese2.blogspot.com

I have recently starting listening to Air1. Love it. I am 55 and am going to join in your "get healthy" blog. I hope other "oldies" will join too. It will be harder for me 'cause of age but that is not going to stop me. Let's Go!
